One of the simplest aromatic alcohol; exist mostly in the nature in the form of ester in essential oil such as jasmine oil, hyacinth oil and balsam of Peru. Colorless liquid with aromatic flavor, slightly soluble in water, easily soluble in alcohol, ether and aromatic hydrocarbons.Flammable, toxic, high combustible when encountering high heat
Application fields:
1. Used as solvent and spices agent of spices; additives such as soap, perfume, cosmetics and other products
2. Used for coating solvent, photographic developer, PVC stabilizer, medicine, synthetic resin, solvent, vitamin b injection solvents, ointment or liquid preservative;
3. Used as dryer of nylon yarn, fiber, and plastic film; solvent of dyes, cellulose ester, paint and casein;
4. Often used as edible spices.
Health hazard: anesthetic effect; irritate eyes and upper respiratory tract and skin. Mistaking can cause headache, nausea, vomiting, convulsions, coma, etc.
Emergency treatment:
Contact with skin: take off the clothes got tainted and rinse the skin with a large amount of flowing water.
Contact with eyes: lift up the eyelid and rinse with flowing water or normal saline. Get medical attention.
Inhalation: evacuate to fresh air area. Use oxygen or artificial respiration if necessary. Get medical attention.
Mistaking: drink plenty of warm water and induce vomiting. Gastric lavage, excretion. Get medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures:
Fire extinguishing methods: firefighters must wear gas mask, whole-body fire suit to fight fire in the direction of upper wind
Transfer the container from fire place to open area as much as possible. Spray water to cool down the container on fire site until the fire is put out.
