Furfural is a colorless and transparent oily liquid produced by hydrolysis and dehydration of pentosan in plant fiber raw materials. It is also called furan formaldehyde. It has a special fragrance and its color quickly turns yellow under the action of light, heat, air oxidation and inorganic acid. It is brown and finally dark brown. It is also easy to polymerize and is in the form of a resin.
Application area:
1, Used as a raw material for organic synthesis, also used in synthetic resins, varnishes, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, rubber and coatings;
2, Mainly used as industrial solvent for the preparation of decyl alcohol, decanoic acid, tetrahydrofuran, γ-valerolactone, pyrrole, tetrahydropyrrole, etc.;
